Homestead Baptist Church was organized on August 8, 1895 recorded in the Florence County Courthouse under the name "The First Swedish Baptist Church" on November 9, 1895 as a non-profit religious corporation under the laws of the State of Wisconsin. The purpose of Homestead Baptist Church is to glorify God through worship, prayer, preaching and teaching of the Word of God, administering the New Testament ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, and seeking to fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) by reaching out to its community and the whole world through evangelism and practical service.
